MEMORY, VULNERABILITY, FAITH AND LEGACY
WHY TELL THESE STORIES?
Over the years, I have discovered how much meaning can be hidden in moments that once seemed ordinary: leaving the country where you grew up, starting over, meeting the person with whom you will build a family, returning to your roots, or helping fulfill the dream of someone you love.
Many of these experiences could simply remain memories. Una Misión Un Corazón was born from the desire to give them new life through music and video, not to remain in the past, but to preserve what may still have something to say to those who come after us.
EXPANDING MY VIEW OF THE WORLD AND OF LIFE
I was born in Lima, Peru, and like millions of people around the world, there came a day when I had to leave behind the place I called home to begin a new life far from my family, my friends, and my roots.
Over time, I discovered that emigrating does not simply mean leaving. It means learning to live between memories and new beginnings, between those who were left behind and those who came into your life later, living between different cultures until you come to understand that the heart can belong deeply to more than one place.
VULNERABILITY
Sharing family photographs, farewells, dreams, decisions, and memories that belong to our private lives is not always easy. Each song means opening a small window into moments that were never originally meant to be public.
But I have discovered that when we tell our stories honestly, something unexpected happens: they no longer belong only to us. Someone recognizes in them their own farewell, their own family, their own search, or the dream they still carry in their heart.
FAITH AND LEGACY
A story I am still discovering
When I look back, I can recognize moments that at the time seemed like isolated decisions, coincidences, farewells, or encounters. Over time, many of them began to reveal something greater: the quiet presence of God accompanying me along the way.
My family of origin, my wife, and my children will probably know many of these memories because they lived them with me. Future generations may know them only through a photograph, a story, or a song.
If one day these songs help them understand where they come from, how deeply they were loved, the people who helped make their story possible, and how God was present along the way, then this project will have fulfilled an important part of its mission.
